What is a Tandem Jump?
A tandem jump is a skydive that is made with the instructor and the student fastened together from the time they leave the aircraft, until they reach the ground.  A specially designed parachute is used to attach the instructor to the student.

The main and reserve parachutes are considerably larger than the ones used by a solo jumper.

At our drop zone, the jumpers exit the aircraft from an altitude of 10,000 feet above the ground.  They freefall for about 35 seconds to and altitude of 5,000 feet, and then open the main parachute.  At this altitude they will have approximately 5 minutes under the canopy until they land.
